What am I doing wrong here? Why are the seals leaking and is that the likely cause of the slipping? The first seal I put in wet, the second I put in dry (per the latest BMW service bulletin the dealer gave me). It was good at first but after a couple day of riding the clutch is slipping like crazy again! There’s a little oil on the tray so I have to assume the seals are leaking again. This time I put in a new clutch pad and closed it back up. I just tore it down once again, replaced the rear main and gearbox seal again because they were leaking (I don’t understand why!). The clutch pad was plenty thick so I cleaned it up and put it back together, confident that the spring was the root of the issue. When it started last slipping year I tore it down and replaced the leaking rear main seal and gearbox seal, discovered that I had a “lightweight” diaphragm spring installed and replaced it with a stock spring. My clutch has been persistently slipping and I am utterly baffled.
